    Alles ist gut, solange du wild bist

    My mantra which originates from my childhood, "alles ist gut, solange du wild bist", translates to English as "everything is fine, as long as you‘re wild." A synonym for never letting yourself be restricted by social norms and staying wild in the truest sense of the word. My thesis concept deals with my personal development from childhood to adulthood. The main inspiration and impulse for my project is a silk painting that I did in elementary school and a necklace with felt beads from my kindergarten days. This necklace, whose individual beads symbolize stages in my personal development, serves as my personal key visual. Growing up in a small town in Eastern Switzerland, I felt confronted with a traditional view of women and the female body. I discovered the medium of fashion to be able to stand up for myself and express myself. At that time, strong women in my surroundings were great role models. These women played pivotal roles in my life, helping me reach where I am today. I am forever grateful to these women and dedicate this project to them.

    Clothing that is involved in distinct social practices and identitary groups has stood at the center of my artistic work in fashion. In my practice I deal with the aesthetic codes of clothing that is loaded with stigmas and prejudice and use these as tools. The formation of an exclusionary group is the social mechanism that underlies both Swiss traditional dress and football kits. Working with their codes has allowed me to unearth the ambivalences and nuances of these garment vocabularies. My work stages the performative and visual strategies involved in these systems of clothing and, drawing on their forms, proposes an alternative language for fashion.

    Dear Reader,I kindly ask you to consider. Where is peace? My work relies on a “perspective” that sees the actual as non-dual, that places a significant emphasis on the materiality’s role in shaping our understanding of realities, existences, and knowledges. It suggests that our bodily experiences, sensations, and interactions with the world as separate from us or as an undivided whole play a central role in shaping, forming and creating in a way that adequately responds and co-responds to/with/as the actual. This is about handing over natures direction to Nature. “Nature” being a name for the Immeasurable. It is turbulent, chaotic. It enfolds and unfolds and interacts with our sensory perception. In this regard holding to any viewpoint whatsoever cannot lead to Peace. Since there is violence in binding actuality into any viewpoint. The work emphasizes the interconnectedness of bodily experiences with the totality, rejecting fixed viewpoints, which lead to violence. The presented forms question the utility of stagnant human thought, advocating for a shift from isodogmatic behavior. In the context of radical somaticism, it promotes direct bodily experience over cognitive interpretation. In studying the mind, I find all of life’s appearances and forms to be teachers, To me the mind is magic: empty, yet cognisant. Through all of life which dress is a part of.     Luna's monologue

    It struck me – I returned to my origin, my end. A decade lost in confusion, exhaustion, a quest to reclaim what was forgotten. A dream of self-discovery, a battle to salvage something precious. Was it my beginning or my end? Living in circles like the moon, separating from the girl within, lost since time immemorial. Awakening came – realizing the core was so near. Clothing making became salvation, a home, a language, an armor. Each stitch healed, each cut’s a story. Three projects mirrored my journey, a diary woven in fabrics. The thesis: a final chapter, a journey back in time. Exploring the unity in duality, erasing lines between masculine and feminine. Recreating the magic of moonlit nights in clothes. Yet, the collection transformed to the early morning twilight, a transition from darkness to light, shapes got sharper, textures - more vivid, embracing the dawn of realization.

    My thoughts encapsulate the intricate web of identity and culture woven through my experiences. The fusion of my Colombian roots with the Swiss environment and my exploration of diverse cultural influences has enriched my perspective. The quest for self-knowledge amidst such diversity is undoubtedly an ongoing journey. My narrative emphasizes the fluidity of my identity, shaped not only by roots but by the continuous interplay of varied cultures. My curiosity about different cultures fuels my creativity and propels my pursuit of deeper understanding. Respect and openness serve as bridges connecting us all. My work is an embodiment of the wisdom handed to me by people or things dear to me and is a mark of my hope for our shared humanity.

    My thesis collection focuses on the creation of adaptable clothing, which overcome functionality. The process evolves into a collaborative dialogue between body, wearer, and society, exploring themes of conformity, adaptation, and mimicry. My designs are inspired by cultural and sociological observations, challenging norms, and suggesting a reflection on conventions. Fashion acts as a powerful medium, influencing social inclusion or exclusion. This duality is reflected in the adaptability of clothing, allowing the pieces to follow along the unpredictable ride of life. Inspired by nature and its processes, the designs celebrate individuality, reshaping the act of dressing as a ritual of self-appreciation.

    "Stück" draws on theatre as an artistic form and stages the processes involved in the production of its particular mode of reality. Two actresses and an actor find themselves confronted with a text on sheets of paper and, as in an audition or rehearsal, are asked to develop a role or character on its basis. What ensues is an accumulation of speech, disjointed gestures, movements, unresolved impulses, unfinished actions, and competing emotional tones. The divide between actress and role emerges as porous and unstable. Expressive possibilities are stretched, and the relationship between language and the body is laid open. "Stück" is about the multiplicity of the self and its ongoing creation in speech and bodily play. Language arises as a territory of freedom from the boundaries of identity and conventions of expression. At its base lies hope for union and reciprocity.

    For many years I felt the unstoppable urge to search for my own hybrid third space a vacuum created by myself. A space in which the new status quo does not do justice to the opposites, no, but imitates them and presents them in its own form, function, and way of being. Deceiving and simultaneously disappointing the critically observing eyes which gaze from afar. Through the design process from analog collages and sketches to trained AIs, I found a way to rethink my design process in a way that is hybrid for me. As a team in an exchange with technology to bring imitations from the digital world back to the analog. As a climber and designer, to unite function with the desire for aesthetics. To re-imitate imitations in my own way and to present the act of imitation itself as a representation.

    While the digital world defines the future, there will always remain a connection to the analog world. It is precisely at the interface that Collective MVS works, which consists of Andreas Belser and Florian Kech. They understand the transitions between these two worlds as fluid states, as the reality of a way of life that is becoming more and more self-evident and is also perceived as such. Collective MVS investigate the perception of digital and analog clothing and fashion, creating an actual virtual reality.
