Publikation Voice Banking in Switzerland(Hochschule für Wirtschaft FHNW, 2019) Uslu, Harun Seyfettin; Hinkelmann, Knut; Martin, AndreasIn recent years, studies and scientific papers considering voice assistants have been published. Financial services are investigating solutions where their clients can perform queries using a voice assistant. This service is also called voice banking. However, financial services are competing with other big tech giants who have more experiences in this specific technology. So, for financial services, it is essential to provide their clients as soon as possible an innovative service providing them with a high level of trust. Research in literature has shown that studies in the use of voice assistants in financial services have been performed but not in terms of financial services within Switzerland considering trust and different platforms and channels. Based on this gap, this study aimed to evaluate a voice assistant for financial services built on a Swiss financial platform with an own channel (= voice banking) by clients of a financial service provides in contrast to integrating third-party voice assistant platforms and channels considering trust....11 - Studentische ArbeitPublikation Virtual Assistant for shopping(Hochschule für Wirtschaft FHNW, 2019) Castañeda Mejia, Juan Pablo; Thönssen, BarbaraThe present master’s thesis aims to design a virtual assistant (VA) that improves consumers’ shopping experience by meeting the requirements for privacy, security, and trust, and thus provide a new business opportunity for financial card providers. Additionally, it is intended to find the requirements for designing a VA that improves consumers’ shopping experience with respect to privacy and security. It also intends to address the main concerns users face when using these VA. Moreover, it also determines how privacy and security are currently implemented in VA, and, lastly, it discusses how a financial card provider can leverage their knowledge in the development of VA regarding privacy, security, and trust. Unlike previous studies, the privacy and security requirements needed in a VA to improve the user’s shopping experience are now defined in this master’s thesis. Therefore, it is intended to present evidence that it is possible to design a VA that improves users’ shopping experience and offers a new business opportunity for a financial card provider....11 - Studentische ArbeitPublikation Video supported Self-Reflection in the Context of Clinical Supervision at a Rural School in Zimbabwe(Hochschule für Wirtschaft FHNW, 2019) Nema, Shreeya; Gröhbiel, UrsClinical supervision and self-reflection as established by several studies are two important elements contributing to a teacher’s professional development. Video recordings facilitate feedback from the teachers and supervisors. Observation of recordings fosters teacher’s self-reflection and clinical supervision process. The purpose of this study was to investigate how video intervention can be established in rural schools to enhance the self-reflection of the teachers in the context of clinical supervision and identify if it leads to the professional development of the teachers. The study employed design science research to develop video intervention guidelines, that were implemented by the teachers and the supervisors at a rural school. In a multi-method approach, qualitative data was collected and analyzed using semi-structured interviews and observations from six teachers and three supervisors....11 - Studentische ArbeitPublikation Using Machine Learning Methods to Improve Forecasting Support Systems(Hochschule für Wirtschaft FHNW, 2019) Kussmann, Simon-Ulrich; Ehrenthal, Joachim; Hanne, ThomasForecasting remains one of the key drivers for successful implementations of Sales and Operations Planning. Companies pursue different strategies to create forecasts with the highest possible accuracy. Often the combination of statistical and judgemental forecasting methods is implemented that can be prone to problems and barriers like different incentives, systematic bias and human errors which lead to uncertainties and trust issues. These problems are the reason for the existence of forecasting support systems that provide meaningful support to the forecasting process or function. But existing knowledge and literature highlight that the maturity of FSS implementations is low and that improved FSS need to be developed that further support and guide forecasters by taking the advantages of the application of machine learning methods....11 - Studentische ArbeitPublikation Usage of external data to support companies for the identification of the potential for digital transformation(Hochschule für Wirtschaft FHNW, 2019) Antonino, Lanaia; Gatziu Grivas, StellaToday, companies in a wide range of industries are aware that they are exposed to a threat from the missed digital transformation - disruption. They also recognize the value of data, while data has been collected for years. However, there are many who do not know how to use the collected data efficiently to transform their business model, as there is no comprehensive support in the form of a method. This research project defines such a method to provide organizations with a tool to support the different aspects of data-driven decision making in business model transformation. Within the design research approach a method for the transformation of a business model with a focus on data was developed. The method is based on profound literature research. The evaluation process included interviews with experts who have done research in the field of digital transformation or who work in the area of data-driven business models. The developed method consists of a sequence of activities, some of which could be directly taken over from the literature research. The gap found was closed by a model that allows the user to transform the existing business model by focusing on data. The intention of the model is to comprehensively cover the aspects of data-driven transformation, resulting in an optimized or innovated business model. The research results indicate that the conceptual method is a suitable approach to support organizations in data-driven business model transformation. It enables organizations to transform their business model.11 - Studentische ArbeitPublikation Travel Itinerary optimization Augment using Augmented Reality & Artificial Intelligence(Hochschule für Wirtschaft FHNW, 2019) Anuradha, Kishore; Inglese, Terry; Korkut, SafakTraveling is an experience that goes beyond the journey, transportation, accommodation, and weather conditions. To enhance this experience, travellers look for information on travel blogs, recommending applications and websites, but often find it cumbersome to create an ideal itinerary. Due to the advancement of technology in the field of tourism, many applications are available to provide travel itineraries based on tourist’s profile, travel history, similar data search, etc. but optimized travel itinerary by considering visitors preference and time constraints are missing. Travellers prefer simple and user- friendly applications to resolve their query. Moreover, with the outbreak of the Covid-19 and the travel restrictions, tourists want to know about the current situation of the city before their visit. Augmented reality is a technology that superimposes computer-generated digital image onto the real world and changes the way people experience their surroundings. The Artificial intelligence empowered chatbots are used in tourist applications for improving the tourist experience. This paper aims to develop a prototype using capabilities of augmented reality and artificial intelligence for enhancing the user experience and provide optimized travel itinerary and health and safety information for Covid-19....11 - Studentische ArbeitPublikation Transformation in IT Organizations Through Clouds Service Introduction Organizational Assessment Framework (ORGAF)(Hochschule für Wirtschaft FHNW, 2014) Schellenberg, Manuel; Gatziu Grivas, Stella; Giovanoli, ClaudioThe first hype around cloud computing is over and cloud services settle as well-accepted and adapted technologies. Though the enterprise’s work is not done with sourcing cloud services or buying cloud infrastructure. The challenge consists of the successful organizational transformation to unveil the full potential of cloud services and to enable the organization to generate business value with these cloud assets. Even though many companies have started integrating cloud services in their service delivery, they are often overstrained to adapt organizational structures and processes accordingly. It is recognized that new roles and skills are required for the successful transformation, but it is not exactly known what roles and skills are needed at what specific time. An organizational framework model is a universal instrument to encounter this problem. Together with an organizational assessment framework it is a powerful tool to assess the current state of the IT organization concerning efficient and effective cloud service delivery....11 - Studentische ArbeitPublikation The roles and strategies of brand manufacturers in digitally transformed distribution channels(Hochschule für Wirtschaft FHNW, 2019) Budimirovic, Vladimir; Leimstoll, UweThe development of new digitalised communication channels has a significant impact on the purchasing behavior of the consumer and the communication and sales strategies of retailers and brand manufacturers. The digitalisation and use of technology has led to a fragmentation of the distribution chain (Peters, Albers, & Schäfers, 2008). The suppliers no longer operate the purchasing process as a whole but only one or few of several touching point along the typical functions of retail (Clifford, Cashmore, &Lyall, 2018). Offline retailers are getting increasingly engaged in online channels, creating multichannel strategies to improve the customer experience (Leimstoll & Wölfle, 2017).In this environment, brand manufacturers see the possibility of establishing direct-to-consumer strategies that would enlarge their market coverage, increase the customer satisfaction and have direct contact with him (Käuferle & Reinartz, 2015), ensure an optimal presentation of their brand and gather important information about the shopping behavior of their customers (Wölfle & Leimstoll,2016)....11 - Studentische ArbeitPublikation The future of the banking industry: "Mobile only Banking in Switzerland"(Hochschule für Wirtschaft FHNW, 2019) Vukelic, Ivana; Schwaferts, DinoNowadays, in the so called “technological era” smartphones have evolved and offer their users a series of new possibilities in all fields of information exchange and various different services used by applications to enhance their functionalities. Moving towards the future, mobile banking becomes much more than a banking channel. It becomes a banking channel that offers a new way of accessing financial services via mobile devices allowing a completely new dimension of bank and customer interaction. This new dimension is being influenced by mobile-only banks, which are a new type of banks designed to offer financial transactions such as balance inquiries, transactions histories, payments and money transfers through a smartphone enabling users to access so far only branch oriented services, using their smartphones at anytime from anywhere. The popularity of local branch banking has declined due to younger customers opting for the increasing convenience of banking services through their smartphones. This new generation called Generation Z will comprise 32 percent of the global population of 7.7 billion in 2019. Therefore, the upcoming research within this master thesis will try to identify the disruptive thread in regards to Swiss banks and smartphone banks available for the Swiss market, as well as to address the demand of Generation Z for mobile-only banking model—a global trend offered by smartphone banks and its potential influence on the future of banking in Switzerland.11 - Studentische ArbeitPublikation Structured Information Extraction from Unstructured Documents(Hochschule für Wirtschaft FHNW, 2019) Biafora, Pasquale; Pustulka, ElzbietaThe constant development and use of information technology to digitize and digitalize business processes leads to an increasing amount of data available in various formats. This data comes in two main forms, namely structured and unstructured. Nowadays, around 80% of data in organisations is unstructured (Grimes, 2008). Insurance policy documents are a good example of this kind of data, with a lot of text and domain specific language. It is difficult to leverage this data as there is no clear structure and the massive amount of data makes it too time consuming to analyse it manually. Over the past years, the need to handle unstructured data has arisen and that’s why many researchers are trying to tackle this challenge.Currently, it is not possible to automatically extract structured information from insurance policy documents. Insurance brokers analyse every policy by hand and search for relevant terms. This information is then used to compare different insurance quotes and to offer the best combination to the customer. Instead of spending their time in consultancy and helping their clients find the best insurance solution, the brokers lose a lot of time in extracting relevant information....11 - Studentische Arbeit
